About the college:
With the aim of creation
education up-to-date, scientific, well-intentional and life-oriented Government
Science College has developed a well-reputed organization in the literary ring
of the Dhaka city. Located near Farm gate, the emotion of the capital, it happening
its journey as ‘Technical High School’ on a terrestrial area of about nine
acres. Beside general topics, it had twenty posts for diverse technical
subjects. Later the establishment was upgraded into Middle level and renamed as
Intermediate Technical College. The post of the practical subjects promoted
thereafter, and from 1980 onwards, dissimilar areas of natural sciences as Physics,
Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry were presented along with Degree Course taking
Bangla & English. Ultimately on 19 November 1985, it was authoritatively named
Government Science College a reliable and highly commended
institution—imparting superiority education in the capital city. A exclusive
feature is that Government Science College, as unstated from the title, is the individual
Intermediate and science-created government institution for male students below
the ministry of education in Bangladesh.
At present about two thousands & five hundred students
are attainment education in a beautiful, clean & lime campus. Two residences,
cooperative one hundred and fifty students every, are there with modern facilities
and good management. The instruction stuffs are skilled, enthusiastic and have
received much government exercise to facilitate excellence education. Apart
from post-graduation gradations, some have achieved Mphil and Phd degrees in individual
areas. As students are receiving congenial theoretical atmosphere in the campus
with proper care and consideration, a good number of them get registered in
public campuses, BUET and govt. medical colleges each year.
The academic & organizational areas are running acceptably
under the self-motivated leadership of Professor Md. Habibur Rahman Principal of the college. His one avowed assignment
is to turn the college into unique of the best colleges, both academically
& in punishment, in the capital city by 2016. And it is worth mentionable
that the coaching stuffs and the college management are united and working collected
to reach the goal.

Recently the terms ascendancy and good governance are being snowballing
used in development literature. An affected change has come in community
administration and the paradigm modification towards good governance and maintainable
developments. Day by day, the intellects, bureaucrats and civil civilization
members are tolerant the sprit of the concept and abstracting it in their own
experience and setting. In Bangladesh, all the internal and exterior actors of
politics, management and development are highlighting on the need for respectable
governance.
Today it is not only academic question rather it is being deliberated
in aid forum and policymaking meeting and negotiations. But actual picture of
governance in our country does not demonstrate to be good and acceptable.
Accountability of government and management is at bay. Rule of law.
