Brief History Dhaka University (DU:
On the first day of July 1921 the University of Dhaka unlocked
its doors to students with Sir P.J. Hartog as the main Vice-Chancellor of the
University. The University was set up in an attractive part of the city known
as Ramna on 600 acres of land.
The University ongoing its actions with 3 Faculties, 60
teachers, 12 Sections, 877 students and 3 rooms (Halls of House) for the
students. At contemporary the University consists of 13 Faculties, 66 Sections,
8 Institutes, 3 hostels, 17 dormitories, and extra than 35 Research Centers.
The number of students and instructors has risen to about 33,112 and 1,805 correspondingly

University was set by its first after in the 2nd Convocation Vice-Chancellor,

At the beginning a characteristic feature of the University
of Dhaka was its no affiliating, housing character like that of the Oxford of
England. However, since 1947 the University was assumed a linking mandate in
place of an exclusive housing-cum-teaching character.
A new phase began in the history of the University with the appearance
of the People's Nation of Bangladesh in 1971. This has been a phase of expansion,
expansion and merging of previous gains. The University has expected a central
role in the theoretical pursuits of the district including this new country.
The University of Dhaka has passed through unrestrained times at different epochs

M.Phil. Researchers have found their degrees from this University.
