Pabna Polytechnic Institute is a historic polytechnic
institute which has a extended past. This institute is playing a energetic role
in tech education subdivision of Bangladesh which turns under Bangladesh
Technical Education Board in Diploma Engineering. Its history instigates in
1924 when the Landowner of Trash Mr. Shri Banomali Roy originated a technical
school at the right adjacent of the Nagarabari road in Pabna named BL Eliot
Technical School in Pabna polytechnic. In the period of 1960’s, Government of
East Pakistan recognized many Polytechnic Institute in diverse district of East
Pakistan below Five-Year Plan. As part of the strategy in 1962 that technical
school develops Pabna Polytechnic collage in diploma engineering education .
In 10 January 1970, Dr. Waker Ahmed Director (pabnaTechnical
Education) originated the building work of the Pabna Polytechnic Institute in a
new noiseless pleasant environment extent of about 30 acres of land alongside
the north-east crook of Edward University College. After finishing the structure
work academic activities instigate with three technologies Civil, Mechanical
and Control in the new campus in 1978.
In 1980 one different technology named Electrical was presented
in the polytechnic institute. In twentieth period the polytechnic presented
three new technology baptized Computer, Construction and Environmental Department
to see the requirement of job market. Now-a-days the institute is successively
two shifts to meet the pressure to study there. Every year about 768 students
are confessing in the institute to education tech education that plays a vital character
in tech job market and in developed education both in home and overseas after transient
from the institute.
