Sher-e-Bangla Medical College is a medical college in
Barisal,Bangladesh. SBMC was established in 1969 and is run below the management
of the University of Dhaka. It was christened after A. K. Fazlul Huq, identified
by his nickname of “Sher-e-Bangla” which resources Tiger of Bangla, a leading
Bengali statesman and previous prime minister of Pakistan in the chief half of
the 20th century, who experienced law in Barisal.

History-SBMC:
Building began on the college on 6 November 1964, at which
time it was identified as Barisal Medical College. It opened to students in
1968 and was quickly renamed to its current title, conferred in honor of former
Prime Minister A. K. Fazlul Huq. a resident of Barisal, was frequently called
by the phrase “Sher-e-Bangla”, which interprets from Urdu to Tiger of Bengal.

Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Community Medication, Pharmacology, Scientific
Medication, Microbiology, Medicine (including Pediatrics, Psychiatry,
Dermatology and Venereal Diseases, Physical Medication, Cardiology, Nephrology,
Neuron-medicine and other sub-specialties), Operation (with Ophthalmology,
Otorhinolaryngology, Traumatology, Pediatric Operation, Anesthesiology, Dentistry,

Postgraduate exercise programs- SBMC:

*Autopsy facilities- SBMC:
Due to devout traditions, autopsies are not carried out regularly in all hospital deaths. Only the medico legal autopsies are achieved by the department of scientific medicine with the help of the department of pathology whenever wanted. A student has to attend at least 20 autopsies under management of a teacher during the period of second specialized MBBS study.

*BMDC Registration- SBMC:
BMDC Registration is a mandatory pre-obligatory for all types of practice, job and vocation. Both after Graduation and Post-Graduation all the Doctors must register him/her-self in BMDC. Preparation without registration is disciplinary as per law.
