Welcome to Rangpur Medical College-RMCH:

Rangpur Medical College is a government Medical College & Hospital in Bangladesh. It is located in the northern portion of the country. Rangpur Medical was established in the year 1970 with its 500 bedded instruction hospital. Since its inauguration the college has been in sturdy progress. The first batch of 50 students was acknowledged in Rangpur Medical College in the year 1971 and was associated to Rajshahi University. Now the number of yearly contestants has been amplified to one hundred and ninety-seven in each academic year rejecting foreign students. Also the hospital lodging raised to 1000 beds since 2012.

The Medical is running with numerous other affiliated teaching hospitals in addition to its own. These are communicable disease hospital for tuberculosis and chest sicknesses, three Thana health Complexes in rural sceneries of Rangpur District. Moreover, the new additions since 1991 are Nuclear Medication Centre, Coronary Unit, Diarrhoeal Sickness control and Training Unit, Neuro Medicine, Neurosurgery, Pediatric Surgery, Radiotherapy, Physical Medicine, Urology, Herpetology, Respirational Medicine, Endocrine and Metabolic disease, Nephrology Departments comprising dialysis junction and Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

This institution has happening post graduate course in the year of 1998 after standard by GMC (General Medicine Board, British) in the year 1996 with DCH Diploma in Child Health. At present 10 posts progress courses in different disciplines are successively since 2005. Though the post graduate progressions were started under the Rajshahi University but from 2010 all the post graduate progressions are conducted by BSMMU same as all other medical colleges of Bangladesh-RMC.

From year of 2014 the post ex-student courses start placement program under BSMMU. These progressions are MS (Surgery); MD (Medicine); MD (Paediatrics). The college is also directing courses on M. Phil (Anatomy),(DA) and Scientific Medicine (DFM). From January 2012 the college happening BDS course with 50 students.

It has three boys dosshouse named- Pinnu Hostel, Mukta Hostel & Helipad Hostel. There are four girls hotel. Besides there are also two hostels for imprison doctors one for male and supplementary for female. The name of male confine hostel is ‘Shaheed Dr. Mildn hostel.

About RpMC in Bangladesh:

Rangpur Medical College is one of the chief government medical colleges in Bangladesh, located in Rangpur District beneath new Rangpur Division.

Location Rpmc: Rangpur Medical College is positioned in Rangpur, 330 kilometers from Dhaka, and 210 km from Rajshahi District. It is situated in the northwest part of the city of Rangpur, located by the side of the inter-country highway involving India and Nepal. It is well connected by rail, road and air with the principal city Dhaka.
 

Rangpur Medical College was recognized in 1970 during the historical of East Pakistan. Governor Over-all of the formerly East Pakistan, Munaim Khan placed the substance of this Medical College in1969. The Medical College is located about two km north to Rangpur city in the expanse of Dhap, Jail road conflicting to district jail and very near to Rangpur cantonment area. The College happening with 50 students in its first batch. Now each year, 175 students get acknowledged in this medical college for MBBS development. Other than MBBS course there are numerous postgraduate courses counting DCH, ,DFM, MS in Gynae & Obs, MS in General Surgery, MD in Interior Medicine and MD in Pediatrics. It is a fully housing College with facilities of satisfactory doctors quarter, large central mosjid, concourse and gymnasium for students. There are three hostels for boys and two hotels for the girl students. Beside these three are dispersed doctor’s hostels for ladies and gents for the apprentice doctors. Each year ten seats are fixed specially for international students of South Asian republics such as India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan. The medical college is consecutively with several other allied teaching hospitals in calculation to its own. These are the communicable disease hospital, hospital for tuberculosis and chest sickness, and three thane health multiplexes in rural settings of Rangpur district. New additions since 1991 are the nuclear medicine midpoint, coronary care unit, diarrhoeal sickness control and training unit, neuromedicine, neurosurgery, urology, medicine, paediatric hematology, respiratory medicine, endocrine and metabolic diseases, paediatric hospital, radiotherapy, physical medicine division, and burn unit. The General Medical Meeting of the United Kingdom has documented the graduates of this college with consequence from 1 January 1996. Currently running Rp-40 batch.

 ADMISSION PROCEDURE RMC:
Admission for under graduate students are solely skillful by the Director, Medical Education, DGHS, Dhaka. For admission of foreign student individual country will conduct with Ministry of Health and Family Happiness, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Currently there is no provision for admission of distant students in postgraduate progressions in this medical college and similarly in other government medical colleges in Bangladesh. Only BSMMU, Dhaka is allowing  a limited number of extraneous students in their postgraduate progressions.

TEACHING FACILITIES AND EVALUATION SYSTEM RMCH:

Teaching facilities RMC:

Rangpur Medical College and its associated hospitals render the teaching conveniences in lecture porticoes, dissection halls, lecture rooms, a museum, postmortem room, modern morgue, laboratories, meeting rooms and library. All the teaching amenities are equipped with modern software projectors with laptops, overhead projector and freestyle microphones. Most of the departments are fortified with laptops, desktops computers and program projector.  It also delivers equipment for practical classes and workroom work. There is a facility of using internet in the IT angle friendly to college library. The medium of education throughout the progression is English. The conveniences which are contributing to scientific teaching along with treatment of the patients are cytological, histopathological investigations, automatic and manual culture and sympathy, automatic biochemical analyzer, involuntary and manual hematological examinations, automatic hormone and biological analyzer, clinical biochemistry, radiological examination, gamma camera for version studies, 4-D ultrasonography, radiotherapy, electrocardiography, echocardiography, CT scan, MRI, endoscopy and dissection. Recently ICU and coronary angiogram are going to be introduced in the hospital.

Evaluation system RMCH:
